Prompt for the Day-“Say Your Name”

The inquisitive people at the Daily Post division of Word Press came up with the prompt for today of “Say Your Name” to get our creative juices flowing.  Then they asked three simple questions:”Write about your first name: Are you named after someone or something? Are there any stories or associations attached to it? If you had the choice, would you rename yourself?”

My name is Jeanette

There was a person who I referred to as a child as Big Jeanette.  She was the owner of the local funeral home in the town in which I grew up  near and attended school at.  My maternal grandfather was the local cemetery caretaker.  He kept the grounds clean and neatly trimmed, and dug graves when they needed digging completed.  Big Jeanette was a pleasant person to listen to as a child.  The stories she told me about the people in the area who had passed on here was very educational.

Am extremely happy with my first name.  Big Jeanette was a very nice and well-respected person, so I am thankful I was named after her!  Glad I was not named after anyone on my father’s side of the family.

Please Help Fight this Evil Disease

The medicine my neurologist has put me on for my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
