Prompt for the Day: “Burn”

The sadists from the Daily Post group of Word Press want us to focus our works of art based on the word “Burn“.

Don’t Burn Me!

Have been burned both literally and figuratively in my life.  Too many times by my own stupidity!  We are not even going into the time I accidentally burned the carpeting in the bedroom of my first apartment while playing with a candle making a phone call.  Can we say “DUH”?  Was talking with a guy (who would later be the man I would marry…) so I had my mind on other things.  Was a little gun shy after the last kid I dated broke into my apartment and stole my underwear (talk about sick)!  Who gets off on an ex-girlfriend’s underwear?

If you would like to contact me personally, all you need to do is fill out the form below:

All replies will be read and appreciated by me!  Thanks for any suggestions on how to avoid being burned.

Maybe we should just avoid playing with matches?  We now store them away from volatile substances here at home. Have absolutely no carpeting in the house! The only use we have for matches is burning one so the sulfur smell masks the stench of having taken a smelly shit!

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign. Daily prompt from June 27, 2015: “Deprive”

The sadists from the Daily Post group of Word Press want us to design our creations of various forms of art centering on the word “Deprive“.

Do Not Deprive Any Creature Basic Necessities of Life

To do so would be giving them a death sentence!  If you have a pet, it needs to have water available at all times.  Feeding the animal should happen at least once a day (check with your veterinarian for better instructions).  Human family members deserve the same consideration as your furry friends are given!

Family members need more than food and water.  They need social contact in the form of conversations.  Getting exercise out doors together is good for the family as a whole.  Whether it be going for a walk or bike ride, you need to get the natural vitamin ‘D’ that the sun (when it is shining) provides!  If it starts raining, it is just water after all.  Maybe kicking a ball around the yard or a park together would be fun for you guys, who knows?

If you would like to contact me personally, all you have to do is fill out the form below:

Try to help all life in your surroundings the best that you can!  The life you end up encouraging to flourish might save you personally one day, you never know!

Prompt for the Day: “Circus”

The ring masters from the Daily Post division of Word Press selected the prompt for today of “Circus“.

In the Centre Ring

My health (or lack there of).  Keeps me venturing to one doctor’s appointment after another.  At least it keeps me one my toes!

On the Secondary Stage

The demon / devil of an animal we adopted from the humane society back in Hastings, MN.  Think he is the feline version of Stephen King’s “Cujo“.  Has developed a taste for our blood!  Nary a day passes he doesn’t either draw blood using his claws or teeth.  Literally have scars on my legs and arms from that creature from hades.

Finally, the Third Attention Grabber

My mother-in-law.  Used to be able to get along with her until my husband had a surgical procedure preformed to remove the risk of him impregnating me.  There is too much of  a chance of having a female child who would end up cursed with the disease that runs in the female side of my mother’s family.  Refuse to force an innocent human to endure the incurable genetic mutation of our immune systems, commonly known as multiple sclerosis.  If we are ever desperate enough to desire a progeny, there are too many little kids in need of adoption!

Prompt for the Day: “Brick”

The brick like people from the Daily Post group of Word Press want us to use the word “Brick” in our artistic endeavours for today.

Music First

Made me think of a classic by the Commodores back in 1977 entitled “Brick House“.

Modern Times

Nowadays, aged electronic equipment regardless of whether or not it is still functional may be regarded as a  brick.  Due to the older maybe more reliable device weighs a little more.  Get over it being a little heavier or bulkier, IT STILL works doesn’t it?  The world is throwing away perfectly good equipment all over the place!

Can’t they donate the used stuff to charities or something?  When I was little, the schools I attended survived on old equipment.  The lithograph machines and typewriters were from my mothers generation.  They still worked and helped us be able to learn each day.  Granted the mess the devices made was annoying to clean up after, but that was all a part of getting your education!

So we got a little ink on our clothing from time to time, who wears unwashable pants and shirts to school anyway?  Made us learn how to get the stains out of our apparel if nothing else!  Was a sort of a badge of honour to be seen coming out of the secretaries room with ink on your clothes!

Prompt for the Day: “Flourish”

Are the people at the Daily Post division of Word Press insinuating that I embellish my writing?  They chose the word “Flourish” for our daily works of art to be based on.

Yeah, I Tend to use Big Words

How else can I hope to improve my vocabulary if I don’t put the words to use in daily life?  It is not like you have to actually own a dictionary these days.  You can just look the words up on the internet.  Gave up on actually reading the dictionary back in grade school.  The book had no plot (technically, the word plot was included in the book).  My husband pointed this out to me the last time I made that statement.

Hope the two tomato plants we planted thrive over the summer.  Planning on devouring the big juicy delicious vegetables when they ripen.  A salt shaker near by would be a wonderful accompaniment! Hope the plant’s flowers multiply, since the flowers grow into the actual tomato vegetables.

Next year, if the planting turns out successfully, will purchase another planter to grow peppers and herbs in it.  Who knows what the future of my gardening exploits we lead us?

Prompt for the Day: “Buddy”

The extroverts of the Daily Post group of Word Press want us to focus today’s creations of various art forms on the word “Buddy“.

My Buddies

Married the man who was my best friend right out of college.  We have remained married for my well over 20 years!  We adopted two cats while we lived in a suburb of Chicago.  Mine was the black runt who was my feline companion for years until he passed away back in 2010.  His ghost still visits me in our house even though he never visited our home in real life.

Back in grade school became friends with a little girl who was a year older than I was.  Took her with me to my grandparents one after noon.  My grandma started laughing, because we didn’t even know we were related through her side of the family.  My best friend growing up turned out to be my second cousin!  (I didn’t hold that fact against her, considering I hated all my other cousins!)  Still keep in contact with her today, even through her two marriages.  First one was a complete disaster.  He current husband fits in better with the family.  He even is cursed with the same disease I have!  Multiple sclerosis has taken his career from him just like it took mine away.

Prompt for Today: “Healthy”

The inspiring people at the Daily Post group of Word Press chose the word “Healthy” for us to create our daily works of art based on it.

My Healthy Goals

I make sure I eat at least 3 decent meals each day that include the necessary fiber and fruits and vegetables.  Considering the fact fruits and vegetables are my favourite foods other than my daily small chocolate snack at 1 PM, have no problem meeting that daily requirement.

Get my daily exercise in by lifting my wheelchair in the early morning while I still have both the strength and coordination to do so.  (Hey, face it a weight is a weight!)  Water is my drink of choice, keep bottles of it stashed all throughout the house, since the water from our facets tend to have too much lead in them for our tastes.

Take the vitamins and other supplements suggested by my doctors each day.  Add that to all the medicines I take to help control my multiple sclerosis, I might as well invest in a pharmaceutical company!

Play with the cat we adopted from a humane society on the floor regularly.  Makes me move a little more than I would force myself to do otherwise.  He is also excellent at helping people fall asleep when we would rather not!

Prompt for the Day: “Underestimate”

The pessimistic people at the Daily Post division of Word Press tried to make us think slight of ourselves by choosing the word “Underestimate” for today’s prompt to feature our creative works about.

Have Always Planned for the Worst

Then prayed for the best outcomes in my life!  Try not to underestimate how much time or other costs would be involved.  Plan that projects money would cost extremely more than they actually do, then am happy when it comes in under budget!

The same rule applies to time.  I prefer to arrive way early, so I leave early.  That way road construction tie ups won’t bother me too much.  The damage caused to the vehicle by the construction I detest enormously!  The stray screw or nail puncturing one of my tires is not only costly, but time consuming, and annoying.

Never belittle another human being, regardless of the person’s age.  Little kids can amaze you if you give them free reign!  They have not been inducted into the realms of what is impossible, yet.  Have no knowledge of what can not happen.  Let them make the discoveries at their own pace.  Maybe they will accidentally stumble across the elusive cure for cancer or something else of that magnitude!  You never know, the person may be destined for greatness.  Do not limit them!

Prompt for the Day: “Generation”

The lonely people at the Daily Post division of Word Press must have resorted to their ancestors for today’s prompt of “Generation“.

My Generation

Seems to have no knowledge of raising their own food.  They seem to rely on stopping at fast food restaurants for subsistence.  Great way to both gain weight and waste hard earned money!

Is this how they want the next generation to survive?  How about teaching them basic gardening skills.  Nothing tastes better than vegetables you have grown yourself!  Grab a fresh tomato from your garden and sink your teeth into the juicy flesh.  Or better yet, cut it up in a salad.  Cucumbers you grow can either be eaten fresh or made into pickles down the road.  Try growing your own herbs in your patch of dirt.  Who doesn’t like sage, parsley, or garlic added to a dish?

Prompt for the Day: “Diverse”

The narrow minded people at the Daily Post group of Word Press want US to focus our personal creative works of art on the word “Diverse“.

Attended College For Diverse Experience

In a different state of the US, I met people from all walks of life.  Many new cultures and religions where introduced to me.

First thing I was faced with was the confirmation that the church I was forced to belong to growing up was really just after my money, not actually helping others!  Ended up switching to another Christian faith.

Students at the college came from all around the world to pursue their education.  Became good friends with people from over seas.  The students coming from other counties actually tended to be way ahead of us American kids!  They had focused their childhoods on learning everything they could.  Was a little jealous of their dedication to knowledge.

Eventually, would end up meeting a young man who would become my husband.  The only problem was he had been brought up in the Catholic faith.  Ended up converting him to Methodist with me, since that was the church I had chosen to start attending in college.  We had a blast singing in their choir together.  Went on trips to help the elderly of the area winterize their homes.  Liked getting the chance to help other people!
