The prompt for today given to us by the devious people at the daily post division of Word Press is “An Odd Trio“. They also gave us the following further instructions “Today, you can write about whatever you what — but your post must include, in whatever role you see fit, a cat, a bowl of soup, and a beach towel.”.
Considering we have adopted a grand total of three cats
From various humane shelters the problem of including a cat, will not be challenging for me. Our cat carriers have always been lined with an old bath towel. The requirement of a beach towel would have been a problem until we adopted our newest animal after the other two had passed away due to bad health.

Our newest addition to our family
He uses a scratch pad in the front room of our home. The house’s main floor is completely covered in either linoleum or fake wood flooring. This means the scratch pad will not hold still through the animal’s violent outbursts of scratching. So we put an old beach towel down on the floor and put the scratch pad on top. Now he scratches to his heart’s content.
Am not a fan of soups myself.
Soups and I do not get along, since I end up wearing them when I try to eat them. My husband swears by tomato soup. He occasionally will eat other ones, but tomato soup with cheese makes him feel better when he is feeling ill.
