One of the people close to the Daily Post group of Word Press looked into my personal life history to come up with the writing prompt for today of “Unpopular“. They included a single sentence to depress us even more “Tell us about a time when you had to choose between two options, and you picked the unpopular choice.”
When wasn’t I?
Spent my entire life growing up as an unpopular loner at school. Always refused to let other kids copy off my work at school, would teach them how to find their own answers instead! Taught everything from how to solve math word problems and simple science fundamentals. Loved the impromptu science experimenting! Preferred a good book to keep me company, than other kids. Books offered knowledge, not judgments about your clothes. I chose to take the honest path of not allowing other students to cheat on both homework and tests. Did not make me very popular, but kept my conscious clear. Would help them actually learn the best I was able to do.
Did not want the other kids to learn to depend on me always being there to answer their questions. Wanted them to learn how to arrive at the answers correctly on their own. This way they would be prepared for life in the real world, no matter how ugly the future got!
Please help fight my disease
The medicine my neurologist has me on for my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that every 28 days! Biogen (the manufacturing drug company) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your generosity!
