Prompt for Today: “Carefree”

The blissful people at the Daily Post group of Word Press want to observe our art works based on the word “Carefree“.

Considering My Health Problems

I am definitely not ever carefree!  Along with the scoliosis and asthma I was diagnosed with as a child, add the hideous disease called multiple sclerosis and the sub pubic catheter I had surgically inserted in my body before starting my first dose of the disease modifying medicine in 2010 (has caused way too many urinary tract infections to count) tend to be constantly sick!

Just out of curiosity, how often do you end up coming down sick?

If you would like to offer any helpful advice on the subject of avoiding illness, simply fill out the form below:

All advice will be read by me personally.  Thank you for all your help in this continuously on going problem!

I always follow my doctor’s suggestions to the letter and finish all prescriptions completely.   Flush my nose out with saline as often as I can.  Have a deviated septum, so neti pots do not work for me, unfortunately.  There is no better way to invite illness to reside in your body, than not to finish medicines prescribed by your doctors!  Never share your medications with other people even within your family.  What works for you may make another person deathly ill!

Please Help Fight Truly Evil Disease

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely.

Prompt for the Day: “Frail”

The strong people at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose the word “Frail” for us weaklings to base our daily works of art upon.

Admit My Frailty

Am vulnerable due to my body’s weaknesses caused by a disease known as multiple sclerosis, or MS for short.  Add the scoliosis and asthma that my system has been dealing with since grade school, and I am an out right mess!

The MS causes me to be both clumsy and uncoordinated all at the same time.  If nothing else I am good for a hearty laugh at the insane situations I end up getting myself into!  Who else can run over their own toes in a wheelchair causing a blood bath streaming from one of my feet?

If you would like to contact me, simply fill out the form below:

All comments will be read by me personally!

That right foot has been a pain for as long as I can remember!  Had to cut a plantar wart out of it by myself in grade school.  My grandpa warned me it would have to be cut out by a doctor.  I hated the doctor I was forced to see as a child, so I just took my pocket knife, sterilized it with alcohol, and then proceeded to cut into my own foot!  Thankfully, I did it over in our milking parlor at the farm which has hoses to wash messes down the drain.  Was glad I could just hose all the blood down the drain.

Prompt for the Day: “Karma Chameleon”

The ever curious people at the Daily Post division of Word Press came up with the prompt of “Karma Chameleon” to ignite our creative fires for the day.  Then they asked a simple question-“Reincarnation: do you believe in it?”

Prompt got me thinking of a song: by the Culture Club by the same name.  Here is the video.

Reincarnation-  Who knows?

Doubt I had a life before this nightmare!  Why would have I come back to live in hell again?  Am not that much of a masochistic personality, myself.  Constant pain is no stranger to me these days.  My back hurts due to childhood scoliosis, my right big toe hurts do to an old outbreak of athlete’s foot that I failed to get cleared up.

Will end up having to visit a podiatrist to try and get the nail of my big toe on my right foot removed.  Want the fungus completely eradicated from my body, once and for all!  When you get fungus on your feet, DO NOT TRY to fix the damp problem by using creams or lotions!  My mother had a similar problem.  She had to take medicines in pill form for weeks and have the nail removed as well.

Prompt for the Day: “I’ve Become My Parents”

The prompt given to the blogging community by the people at the Daily Post division of WordPress is “I’ve Become My Parents“.

In the case of my mother, that is an extreme compliment.  She has raised 3 children of her own and countless others, who have benefited from her wise guidance.  Works in the town’s local school system as a teaching assistant.  Has more college instruction than most of the actual teaching staff.  Specializes in helping the kids with learning disabilities.  That’s her day job.  At night and during the weekends, she sells Tupperware products!  She also is a full time slave for my father’s company Wagner Holstein Dairy Farm (has no web presence at this time).

In the case of my father, I am insulted to be compared to him!  He is the reason I am so short.  Am only five foot and one lousy inch tall.  My mom is taller than he is.  Everyone is taller, except me.  My doctor who treated me as a child, didn’t notice I had scoliosis until I went in for my fifth grade physical.  Nothing was ever done to combat my crooked spine!  While living in Lombard, IL went to a chiropractor about a back ache.  After going there several times, he let me know that if my spine had been put in a brace upon diagnosis way back in grade school, I’d be a couple of inches taller!

The main reason I could not pursue my dream job of being an astronaut was I needed five more inches in height.  Could not get a back brace due to the cost of the brace and need for follow up appointments to monitor my back’s progress.  Would not be able to have done my daily farm chores while wearing it, either.  There are weight lifting restraints while having a brace on.  No more handling of bales, buckets of calf supplements, or even lifting a bag of dog food with the brace.
