Prompt for the Day: “Evasive Action”

The scary-cat people of the Daily Post group of Word Press resorted to “Evasive Action” for today’s prompt to try to ignite our creation’s fires.  Then they asked two questions that would make frightened creationists flee-“What’s the most significant secret you’ve ever kept? Did the truth ever come out?”

The True Story of my Childhood

Was not a fairy tale time of unicorns and rainbows.  Unicorns don’t exist, for one thing.  Rainbows are just remnants of rain.  Had to keep the secret of abuse and rape all to myself.  Not a fun thing for a terrified little kid!  Tried telling my mom, but having been a victim of rape herself, she didn’t want to believe it was happening.  Took going away to a different state to attend college and me getting married for her to come to terms with what had happened to me.

At least, the rapist was not the same person who raped her and my aunt!  My rapist turned out to be her husband (my father).  She has not divorced him for some ungodly reason.  She has a better paying job than my father has, so it is not a money issue.  Can’t be the gifts he gives her (he doesn’t).  They don’t take trips together, so I am totally confused as to why she is still with him.  The last name may be high up in the little community in which she lives, but her maiden name is not that bad.  Granted my father’s last name is shorter than her maiden name was, but only by a few letters!

Please Help Fight this Evil Disease

The medicine my neurologist has prescribed for me for my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign. Prompt for the Day: “Childhood Revisited”

The evil people from the Daily Post division of Word Press want to make me relive my childhood nightmares again by choosing the daily prompt of “Childhood Revisited“.  They added as single question followed by a searing statement-“What is your earliest memory? Describe it in detail, and tell us why you think that experience was the one to stick with you.”

My Living Nightmare!

My childhood was never unicorns and lollipops!  The earliest thing I remember is my friend, from the church I was forced to attend by my parents, and I getting spanked by my mom for coloring on the walls of my bedroom with crayons.  My friend was spanked right after me, then her mom was called to come help clean the walls so it would be clean before my father got home.  My mom was not abusive, spanked by using her open hands on our rear ends.  My father was the one I was terrified of!

I started kindergarten at age 4.  My mom dressed me in a dress for my first day of school.  When my father saw me in a dress, he started fondling me under my dress.  As the week wore on, he got worse!  I was a little girl and really confused at what was happening.  Had no idea until long after I was married there was a technical name for what my father did to me.  He had sodomized me!  My body was not big enough to accept him vaginally, so he settled for my rear end.

Once I started my getting my menstrual cycles regularly, he raped me the other way for the first time.  I tried telling my mother, but she had suffered rape herself so she could not handle the idea of her husband doing that to his own little girl!  My father warned me that if I told anyone my grandfather would no longer love me.  My father tried to get me to agree to go on the pill (no more condoms that way), but I refused.  It was not until I had moved far away from home, that my mother began to believe I had told her the truth.

My grandfather passed away, but my mother is still living with my father for some unknown reason (she makes more money than he does by working at the school).  She could pick up and leave any time she really wanted to move on.

Please help fight my disease

The medicine my neurologist has me on for my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri.  Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is impossible.  I remember when I first started on it , the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500.  There was no way my husband and I could afford that every 28 days!  Biogen (the manufacturing drug company) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely.  So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.  To contribute to the fund, click on the following link: https://www.gofundme.com/zfabhdes

Post for the Day: “Ripped from the Headlines!”

The people at the daily post suggested the following prompt of “Ripped from the Headlines!” for us to write about today.  They included two sentences giving us more directions – “Head to your favorite online news source. Pick an article with a headline that grabs you. Now, write a short story based on the article. ”

Article from Mad World News

The article I selected was “White Woman Caught In Vulnerable Moment, Black Guy Rolled Up & Took Over”.  Paints a different picture than most of today’s articles about the interaction of white people and people of African descent.

Listening to today’s news on television had my mind thinking this would be a bloody outcome of some sorts!  Thankfully, I was wrong.  The colored hgentleman did not hurt these women in any way,  he went out of his way to make sure they would be safe during their travels!

Not only did he take a look under the hood of their car to try and diagnose what was wrong, he drove them using his own car, to a place so they could purchase the needed parts (replacement car battery).  Once they returned to the disabled vehicle, he installed the new part and checked the oil level in their car!  Thankfully he knew about the inner workings of an automobile’s engine.

Media today can be disceiving

This is not what you might think would be coming from a place not too far from Ferguson, MO.  No rape, looting, or gun shots involved!  Just a young man helping a single woman in distress.  He was not afraid to do actual work to help others.
