Reach is the Prompt for the Day

The people who must be blessed with height chose the word “Reach” for today’s prompt for us to create various works of art based on.

Everything is Out of My Physical Reach

Comes from being born short.  Managed to obtain my dream of being a successful network engineer, but had to give that position up due to not being able to chase wiring anymore, because a disease confined me to a wheelchair.

Miss telling data both where to go and how to get there!  Do Not Piss Off the engineer in charge of your network, or your traffic might be routed the slowest way posshttp://saintpblogging.com/wp/reach-is-the-prompt-for-the-day/ible.  Yeah the traffic will still arrive, just a few seconds later!  If they are really ticked off, it might end up in the “bit bucket” other wise known as file 13 or trash.

Dreamed of being an astronaut while I was little

Didn’t find out there was a height requirement until I left for college.  There was absolutely no way I could ever reach that goal.  Needed to be several inches taller.  So that was completely out of my reach!  Changed my major to computer science and learned all about programming (which is really boring) and working with network traffic.  Preferred that side of the science!

What was your dream when you were little?

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. If you would like to contribute to my fight against this mind stealing disease, please contribute by visit my personal website at http://saintpblogging.com/wp/ and seeing the copies of my writings located there!

Prompt for the Day: “Pleasure”

The hedonistic people in the Daily Post division of Word Press want us to create works of art representing our personal ideas on “Pleasure“.

Do Not Experience Pleasure

Since losing the ability to work as a network engineer.  My life was about fixing various companies’ networks abilities to move data across the internet.  Sounds boring to most people, but I had the chance to tell data packets not only where to go, but how they got there!  If it was not allowed on the network, it went in the bit bucket (also known as file 13, trash, or many other knick names).  If the source was allowed but an from an annoying source, I might route it the slowest possible way to get there.  It would get there, but might take a few seconds longer than the fastest route!  My advice, Do NOT piss off the local network engineer or you may end up with crappy response times.  We are in charge of the routers for your company!

Lost my cat due to illness back in 2010.  After waiting to try to give myself time to get over his loss, we adopted another cat.  The animal we adopted is pure evil!  His favorite pass time seems to be biting me.  Finally have managed to catch on to his warning behaviours, so I tell him to get off away from me by knocking him off whatever he is on near my body before he gets the chance to sink his teeth into my skin.

If you would like to contact me personally, simply fill out the form below:

All messages will be read and responded to!  Thank you in advance for filling this out.

Anyone have any advice on what to do with the feline version of the dog’s behavior from Stephen King’s book “Kujo”?

Prompt for the Day: “Aimless”

The people who appear to be without goals from the Daily Post division of Word Press want us to take time from our busy lives to create works of art centered on the word “Aimless“.

My Life Has An Aim

I type (write) for my personal entertainment and to help keep my vocabulary sharp!  Prefer to focus on my health problems, the weak \ elderly people, and innocent animals.  Get my topics from the people at Word Press when I start typing each morning.  Where it leads is always a mystery to both me and the rest of the world.

Personally aim to try and help other people survive in this difficult times here in America.  Too much unemployment or underemployment and crime happening all around us each day.  People are unhappy wherever I go.  I am happy my husband is successfully employed (even if I hate the company he works for – it is fully legal, I just do NOT like the business).

I can not find employment due to my health.  Am a network engineer by trade.  Was successful in both the Chicago-metro area in IL and the Denver area in CO working there.  No company position that I am trained for is willing to hire a disabled person (wheelchair will not fit into most spaces that hold the machines I work on to control routing and wiring).

Prompt for the Day: “Purpose”

The haphazard thinking people at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose the word “Purpose” to start our creative furnaces burning with inspirations.

Do You Have a Purpose?

Thought I had a reason for my existence years ago, but I lost the ability to continue being a productive network engineer when my ability resolve wiring snafus vanished due to my need for a wheelchair.  Most major corporation’s wiring closets are not large enough to be accessible.  Now, I can not fit into most existing wiring spaces.  So am reduced  to venting my frustrations by blogging.

Back then, I used to tell data not only where to go, but how to get there!  Some data got discarded in the bit bucket (circular file, trash can, however you like to refer to it) because it was not allowed on the network.  Could have been from a hacker, foreign country, damaged data, or other bad guy trying to attack the network’s systems.  Best case was sent rushing through the routers straight to their destinations.  Other data might have been sent through a slower connection, but it still ended up at the right place.

Now, I confine my typing to keep my mind busy by blogging.  Read other blogger’s works to broaden my horizons  and also making friends all over the world.  Have learned a lot from other bloggers on how to blog more effectively!

Prompt for the Day: “Dream”

The grand dreamers at the Daily Post group of Word Press pulled the word “Dream” out of an old ragged hat to be the focus of our various daily creations.

Music First And Foremost

The Everly Brothers preformed the song: “All I Have to Do is Dream“.  Then there is the song by the Mamas & the Papas entitled: “Dream a Little Dream of Me“.  Then there was Gary Wright’s “DreamWeaver“.

I Used to Dream

Wanted to be an astronaut when I was little.  Got a local politician in congress to give me a recommendation to the United States Air Force Academy located in Colorado Springs.  The only problem was I wasn’t old enough to enter the military without a parent’s signature.  They hit the roof when I asked them to sign for me.

So had to win a scholarship to be able to attend college as far away from them as possible.  While in my first semester of college I uncovered the physical requirements for an astronaut.  I was too short to ever become one.  Crestfallen, I focused on my other interests of computers.  My new dream became to manage huge computer systems.  Did an internship in which I was able to put further constraints on my dreams.  Programming bored me silly!  What turned me on was directing network traffic.

Ended up becoming a successful network engineer.  Lived that dream for many years in several states of the country.  That dream ended back in 2004 when we left Colorado where we had lived for over seven years.  The relocation just about cost us everything.  Putting our dreams on stand still.

We moved many more times until we finally relocated to our current house.  Am now wheelchair bound, but have access to a service that picks me up from our house and delivers me and my wheelchair at our chosen destinations.  Our neighbors are great, not as good as the ones we had back in CO, but nice.

Prompt for the Day: “Hope”

The optimistic minded people from the Daily Post group of Word Press chose the word “Hope” for us to dream up our day’s works of art to display.

Not an Optimist Myself

So I don’t waste too much time on hoping for anything!  I prefer to WORK to achieve actual tangible results.  Have been working and paying in to social security since I was 12 years old.  Helped me a whole lot when I had to file for permanent medical disability a few years ago.  Granted my income as I got older was significantly higher than the tiny pittance I earned at such a young and inexperienced age of twelve.  Going out of state to attend college made a ginormous difference!  Hope did nothing to increase my net worth.

Planning and studying at a young age enabled me to win scholarships to attend college making all the diversity.  While at school, I landed a wonderful internship that became my first fully paid full time job in the career I had came to love.  Became a successful network engineer!  Did not hope to become that, I worked to secure my positions.

Prompt for the Day: “Fearless”

The brave people working at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose “Fearless” as the prompt for the day to cause us to create inspirational works of art.

Am a Chicken Now!

With all the problems I have survived in my life, I am no longer as brave as I was back when I was a network engineer in Colorado!  There I could face the CEO’s of major companies since I was able to fix their networking problems with the help of the team of people I was with.  I had the router knowledge they needed to move their data safely all over the world!

When my husband and I relocated to Wisconsin back in 2004, I basically ended up losing my mind.  Was living with excruciating pain in my legs from lack of my medicines that I used to get from my doctors back in CO.  Tried finding employment there, but no one wanted an engineer.  Tried working for a retail company that failed to follow the ADA laws.

Ended up trying to commit suicide.  With that incident, all my computer knowledge disappeared as well.  Can no longer face people now like I used to be able to do so easily.

Am no longer able to write legibly, so I type so I and others can read my works.  Started blogging using my laptop to keep my language skills from vanishing as well.
