Prompt for the Day: “Clock”

The time driven people at the Daily Post division of Word Press think they can force us to live by our clocks like they are forced to do by selecting the actual word “Clock” for today’s prompt for us to create our works of art around.

We Do Not Have Clock in House!

I know it is a shocking thing, but these days everyone has a cellphone!  Most cellphones have an alarm function on them and keep pretty accurate time.  Why waste money on another clock?  Even a stupid cell phone like I use, has the ability to set three separate alarms.  Personally, I prefer my stupid phone to the smart phone like my husband has.

It makes and receives calls quite well, what more do I need?  Have enough problems making sure I take all my medicines at their appointed time each day to worry about looking at clocks constantly!

If you would like to contact me, all you have to do is fill out the form below:

All replies will be read by me, personally!

How many clocks do you have running in your home?

These days being unemployed, am not as focused on clocks other than my cell phone that reminds me to take my medicines or to meet the Metro Mobility transportation providers who take me to and from my scheduled doctor’s appointments.  With out the excellent service Metro Mobility provides for the disabled people of the community, have no idea how I would continue to survive!

Please Help Fight Hideous Disease

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. If you would like to contribute to my fight against this mind stealing disease, please contribute by visit my personal website at http://saintpblogging.com/wp/ and seeing the copy of this article there!

Prompt for the Day: “Tourist”

The homebodies from the Daily Post group of Word Press want us to create works of art based in the word “Tourist” today.

Loved Playing Tourist

While I lived in Lombard (Chicago suburb) for 18 months and then when we moved to Colorado.  There were so many exciting places to explore.  Chicago offers many great museums and wonderful public transportation via the train systems.  Colorado lacked transportation services, but made up for it with the beautiful mountain scenery!

Used a wheelchair only when necessary while we lived in both places.  Glad I didn’t become confined to a wheelchair permanently until after we moved away from both places.  Here in MN, they have great transportation for the handicapped via a service known as Metro Mobility.  That service has a specially designed bus / van? that picks you up at the door you specify and delivers you to the front door of your designation.  If you request it, they return to take you back home after you finish your outing.

If you would like to contact me personally, all you have to do is fill out the form below.  I will read and respond to each submission.

Look forward to your comments and or suggestions!  This home body likes to stay in our safe handicap accessible home near my great neighbors!  Would like it even better if it was winter, but at least we have decent air conditioning.  Spring, Summer, and Fall tend to be too warm for my health!

Prompt for the Day: “Frivolous”

The carefree people of the Daily Post division of Word Press stumbled across the prompt for today of “Frivolous“.

No Time for Frivolous Things

Wake up each morning with a set goal in mind.  Get dressed, take my medicines, feed the cat, lay out clothes for the next day, then drink breakfast.  Once that is finished, settle down to complete a Fill-It-In puzzle book page.  (Helps keep my handwriting more readable for my husband.)

Then I retreat to the office in our house where my laptop is located.  Since the only ones who can read my writing these days are myself and my husband, I type my words out for the rest of the world to read.  Lost my writing ability along with the rest of my coordination to a disease known as multiple sclerosis.  Lost my ability to walk as well, am now confined to a wheelchair to be able to get around in the world.

Am lucky enough to have been qualified as permanently handicapped which gives me access to a service here in St. Paul known as Metro Mobility.  They allow me to be picked up from our house and driven to my appointments when needed.  In theory also is used it to go to other places like the library.

Prompt for the Day: “Connection”

The writing geniuses with the Daily Post division of Word Press want us crafters, to design our works around today’s prompt of “Connection“.  They included a single ingenious sentence of command-“Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt.”

Made me think of Conjunction

There used to be a short blip of educational kids shows on television called SchoolhouseRock when I was little about conjunctions.  The song went “Conjunction, junction, what’s your function“.  Great memories from that show.

Technically a conjunction is just one type of a connection.  The connections I am most concerned with here lately is how on earth can I get to doctor’s appointments on time considering I have not been able to drive for years.  There is a service provided by the state of Minnesota for handicapped people called Metro Mobility.

This coming Wednesday will be my first attempt at using this service.  Having my husband take the trip with me to help me stay calm.  Tend to be very anxious around strangers.  Getting car sick is normal for me, so plan on taking an empty barf bag with me just in case I need to use it!  Will be taking my motion sickness medicine before I leave both times (once before we leave to go, then again before the return trip home).  I can get motion sick just by sitting in my stationary recliner.  Has to do with multiple sclerosis which I have had since I was little.
