The jealous people from the Daily Post group of Word Press came up with today’s prompt of “Envy” to see what creations we can devise for the day.
My Envy
I resent people who can walk! Life in a wheelchair sucks, to put it politely. Miss being able to climb trees to get away alone by myself.
Also am jealous of the people who managed to achieve a position working at a job they love for their entire lifetime. I had such a position as a network engineer, but when I was forced into a wheelchair had to resign my position. An engineer has to be able to physically trace where the wires actually both go to and come from. Wiring closets tend to be too cramped to accommodate a wheelchair user in them. Loved telling data no only where to go, but how to get there! Miss the excitement of resolving network problems each and every day.
I grudgingly look at all the people who can go for a hike in the woods or enjoy a day out on the slopes skiing like my husband and I used to do while we lived in Colorado. Miss taking pleasant strolls around the area in which we live.
Please Help Fight Destructive Disease
The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
