The big toe on my right foot was really itching bad as I started getting ready for bed. Made the mistake of reaching down to scratch it. A hangnail got caught in the process and ripped off. Blood started gushing out of my toe!
I have a disease known as multiple sclerosis. My neurologist has me on a medicine called Tysabri to help me keep a minimal level of coordination. That was not what caused the blood gush, the Heparin they use to close of my port to my veins is a blood thinner. Seems now when I get a sever injury (ripped hang nail) blood sprays everywhere. The blood loss left me feeling extremely drained when it happened last night, so I just made sure my foot was elevated as I slept.
Had to clean up the blood trail on the bedroom door and the floor both after getting up this morning. Toe is still throbbing, but at least when I took my shower this morning there was absolutely no blood loss! Good thing is I am not grossed out by the sight of blood or it would have been even worse of a disaster.

Please help fight my disease
The medicine my neurologist has me on for my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is impossible. I remember when I first started on it , the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that every 28 days! Biogen (manufacturing drug company) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
