Prompt for the Day: “Handwriting”

Once again the spies from the Daily Post group of Word Press selected the prompt for the day of “Handwriting“.

My Handwriting

Have had poor handwriting since I was little!  Even as far back as kindergarten, my writing and coloring received negative marks from teachers.  Failed to color  within the lines they said.  Hated conforming even if I could have!  Could trace my writing problems back to my father.  The apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree.

I put hours of effort into improving my handwriting skills.  Even tried taking up calligraphy!  Wasn’t any good at that either.  So I taught myself how to type before turning in a report in 4th grade!  Was fed up with loosing points due to my “sloppy” handwriting!

Have been typing everything since!  Once I was finally given the diagnoses of multiple sclerosis after leaving home for college, things began to make more sense.  The “handwriting was on the walls” so to speak.  Explained why I fell so often and many other problems.

Now the disease has taken over my fine motor skills to the point that the only other one besides myself that can interpret my writing is my husband.  Since I have loved the art of crafting works of words as long as I can remember, I now type them so they can be read by the rest of the world!  Blogging is a daily habit for me an ever day that I do not have some sort of other appointment filling my time.

Please Help Fight Malicious Disease

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign. Prompt for the Day: “Key Takeaway”

The questioning people at the Daily Post group of Word Press would like to be given your personal “Key Takeaway” for free.  They included a single statement to get you started on today’s creation-“Give your newer sisters and brothers-in-WordPress one piece of advice based on your experiences blogging.”

My Takeaway

Would have to be avoid investing too much money at the start of your blogging experience!  There are WAY too many sites that will help you get your blog started FREE of charge.  My personal favorite has to be the obvious free sites from Word Press.   Word Press also offers free training on how to write, blog, and other subjects.  Other free blogging sites include Blogger and if you are just wanting a try setting up a free website try using Wix.

Personally, I wasted way too much money years ago when I was starting out by purchasing a website and signing up with a company that promised to make me thousands of dollars if I just followed them.  The company I am speaking of was GVO.  Was not the great value they promised.  Just about cost me my marriage with my husband (not a price I am willing to pay!).

Prompt for the Day: “Morphing” – Bloggering

The evolutionary team at the daily Post division of Word Press decided to use “Morphing” as today’s daily prompt.  They included a few statements.”Language evolves. The meaning of a word can shift over time as we use it differently — think of “cool,” “heavy,” or even “literally.” Today, give a word an evolutionary push: give a common word a new meaning, explain it to us, and use it in the title of your post.”

Bloggering

Bloggering is the taking part in the act of helping create more people becoming bloggers!  I have been on the recipient end of this practice for the past several months.  I have enjoyed the practice of plain old blogging daily for over a year now.  Have made friends of other people like myself who also participate on a regular basis.  We share tips and blogging strategies on a periodic basis.  Not to be confused with the more common word of blogging.  Bloggering is helping others to become more effective bloggers.  Have had several other more experienced bloggers help mentor me in the art of blogging.  Therefore by definition, they have committed bloggering!  Am very thankful they have done so.
