Prompt for the Day: “Sanctuary”

The timid people at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose to have us create works of art based on the word “Sanctuary“.

My Refuge as a Child

Was climbing up an old apple tree in our front yard.  Surrounded by the leaves (in season) I was hidden from vision by people who did not know of my tendencies to climb to safety!  Up in that tree I could read (if I had brought a book with me) or talk to God undisturbed.  Felt more close to him there than I ever did in a stuffy church!

Got to enjoy nature while I was up there, too!  Fresh breezes blowing in over the fields surrounding the yard with the smell of growing crops like corn or soy beans.  If the farm happened to be hauling manure that day, smell would unfortunately drift my way way as well.

I will read each single comment personally!

Where did you retreat to when you where little?

My other place to escape was visiting my mother’s parents.  Grandpa was the only one who truly believed in my dreams.  He swore I could accomplish anything if I set my mind to it!  (Only problem is my dream had a height requirement.  Am too short to ever successfully become an astronaut as I had hoped to become!)

Please Help Fight Hideous Disease

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. If you would like to contribute to my fight against this mind stealing disease, please contribute by visit my personal website at http://saintpblogging.com/wp/ and seeing the copy of this article there!
