The thirsty people at the Daily Post group of Word Press must have been looking for the nearest oasis when they chose the word “Desert” for our daily prompt!
Used to Live in a Semi Arid Location
There were extreme water restrictions in the neighbour hoods. Could only water the lawns on predetermined days. The city of Aurora, Colorado left us begging for a decent rain during the warm months. Once the cooler weather hit, it began to snow! No rain, just lots of snow. Once we had survived the winter, got hit with spring hail storms! It hailed so much, they had to send the snow plows out to clean hail of the roads. Then got a freak late season blizzard of snow! Several feet causing complete white out driving conditions. Talk about weird weather conditions!
The thought of trying to live in an actual desert scares me. Have enough problems with constant dry skin and dry eyes, can’t imagine what life in an actual desert must be like!

The thought of living in a place that goes without rainfall to me would be a huge fire risk! Most vegetation needs water to exist day to day. Guess that is why cacti are so popular there. Tried growing an Aloe Vera plant once in high school. It didn’t like getting over watered, so I stopped watering it! It actually grew into the window sill I had it resting on. So apparently lack of water does not harm the plant.
Please Help Fight Hideous Disease
The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
