Prompt for the Day: “Stroll”

The laid back people at the Daily Post division of Word Press came up with today’s prompt of “Stroll” to inspire our daily works of art!

Wish I could take a Stroll!

Am now confined to taking a roll, not a stroll.  Being confined to a wheelchair for the rest of my life sucks, to put it politely!  Have to be concerned about the terrain I attempt to cross now.  No more tree climbing for me these days, unfortunately.

Used to enjoy going for a walk in the woods.  That behaviour could potentially cause me to end up with a flat tire.  Hate riding on the bare rims of the chair!  Prefer having the comfort of well inflated tires to ride on.  Riding on the rims will cause serious damage shortening the life of the chair.

Wheelchairs are definitely not a cheap expense these days.  Economic inflation has nothing to do with the problem.  Takes months to get a new chair fitted and delivered to your home now!  Getting home delivery is a nice addition thanks to my insurance’s package.  The delivery man generally helps teach you how to care for your new medical device, helping to prolong the life of the chair.

Please Help Fight Hideous Disease

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
