Prompt for the Day: “Sacrifice”

The fearful people at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose “Sacrifice” as the word for our artistic work to be centered on.

Where to begin?

Since leaving Colorado, have literally sacrificed my career and sanity!  Am no longer able to find employment in my chosen career field.  Haven’t seen my sanity even lurking in the shadows for years!  Spent a few days locked up in the loony bin after contemplating suicide.  (Do not call a good friend to say your final good byes before your attempt!)

Heard someone pounding on the front door of our house.  Figured some idiot motorist was having car problems, so I answered the door.  Turned out to be an officer from the local police department coming to take me away to the insane asylum.  My friend’s husband had called them while she kept me on the phone.

My body finally gave away my ability to walk permanently shortly after coming home from the nut ward.  So now am a permanently disabled unemployed person who’s mental state is iffy on a good day!  Even my best friend, a cat we had adopted while living in the Chicago-metro area, passed away back in 2010.  At least I never ran my wheelchair tires over his tail!

Please Help Fight Terrible Disease

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
