Prompt for Today: “Crossroads”

The indecisive people from the Daily Post group of Word Press decided to make us face our indecision points in life by using “Crossroads” for today’s prompt for our artistic works.

Had Many Crossroads

The first major one was leaving the state in which I grew up to attend college alone.  Turned out the new site let me be introduced to many new cultures and people.  After a few years there, I met and fell in love with the man I would end up marrying.  We moved in together for about two years before our wedding occurred.  Had promised my grandpa that I would not get married until I had graduated from college, so the day after graduation was our wedding!

Had a full time job before I graduated, was happy with it at the time until a co-worker passed away.  He literally was the voice of the company that was familiar to all employees, customers, farmers, and every one else that had contact with the place.  I could not handle the man they hired for his replacement or the empty desk.  So I went looking for a new job else where.

Our new family (my husband and I) would have to relocate.  Wound up landing an interview with a consulting firm based out of Texas’s Chicago location.  Caught a flight from Springfield, MO to Chicago’s O’Hare airport.  The manager I was supposed to meet actually met me with a sign with my name on it welcoming me.  He had a limo waiting to take us to his office!   Met a few of who would become my co-workers there.  He had some people do face to face interviews with me.  Ended up liking them all and had a great time.

Later that evening, we went to what I would learn happened ever month a team meeting.  Since I would be the first female employee on the team they were all trying to be too damn polite around me.  So I told them a dirty joke completely straight faced.  Had them rolling and breathing better.  Became one of the guys on the team.  They took me to my hotel where I could get a little sleep.

Was picked up in the morning to receive my offer letter for the job I had been given the chance to accept if me and my husband would be willing to relocate to the area.  Caught a flight home to Missouri where my other half picked me up at the airport.  He called his employer to turn in his notice of resignation as I contacted my boss to warn him I would be resigning at the end of the week.

This would begin our relocation phase.  Would end up adopting 2 wonderful cats.  Moving to Colorado.  And the story just keeps going!

Please Help Fight Terrible Disease

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
