Prompt for the Day: “Voice”

The under spoken people at the Daily Post group of Word Press want us to focus our creations today around the word “Voice“.

My Voice

Am going to use a first person Voice for my work today.  That is how I normally choose to write, anyway!

Growing up, was forced to belong to the church’s choir.  Was the only one who was actually was able to be heard in junior choir (grade school age kids).  Got in trouble from my father if I was unable to be heard.  Hated it, but as I was promoted to youth choir due to being in junior high school, got along much better.

Was in a school musical performance of “Oliver” in my eighth grade year of school.  Had a blast.  Everyone there sang loud enough I was not forced to carry the group like I did at church.

Graduated and went off to college.  Joined a church and was involved in their church choir there.  Turned out I was officially an alto.  Never knew that before.  Learned a lot about my voice from that group of people.  But darker days where coming in my voice’s life.

Started to lose control of my volume and pitch due to an evil disease known as multiple sclerosis.  Can no longer be heard unless I try to be heard.  What little voice skills I had where long gone in the past.

Please Help Fight Malicious Disease

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
