Prompt for the Day: “Screen”

The person in charge of vocabulary at the Daily Post group of Word Press came up with the prompt of “Screen” for today.  They included the normally expected sentence of instruction-“Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt.”

By Definition: Screen

According to the website http://dictionary.reference.com a screen may be a movable or fixed device, usually consisting of a covered frame, that provides shelter, serves as a partition, etc.  There are also computer screens or even projection screens.  Not much into nouns myself.  Kind of a boring object in my opinion!

I prefer verbs.  One of their other definitions of a screen is a verb! To screen you select, reject, consider, or group (people, objects, ideas, etc.) by examining systematically.  Unfortunately sounds too much like discrimination in my opinion, but at least, you are actively doing something.

Politics here lately seem to involve way too much screening!  Like if you are for or against a female in public office.  This is the year 2016, thought we got over the whole females in the workplace problem years ago!  Another form of the verb means to sift or sort by passing through a screen.  I prefer sifted flours, hate finding the odd rock in my foods!

Please Help Fight Destructive Disease

The medicine my neurologist has prescribed for me for my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
