A female near to the Daily Post group of Word Press submitted today’s prompt of “Five Items” to start our imaginations working. She added one simple straight forward question: “A classic question, revisited: what are the five items you must have on a deserted island?”
My Five Items
Would have to include a safe source of drinking water, reliable source of healthy food, and an endless supply of pain- killers. A good pocket knife would be useful in so many ways! Would also need a source of my disease-modifying medicines for my multiple sclerosis.
Considering there are severe restrictions on the sites that administer the drugs, doubt it would be possible! One could always dream. Have the added complication of the fact if my body gets overheated, I experience grand mal seizures. So a source of cooling would be necessary. Maybe icing myself down would let me avert the impending seizures. Who knows?
The sand would make it hard for me to get around using my wheelchair. Would be interesting to see how I figure out the solution to the problem of a sand bogged down wheelchair. A good stretch of my mental capabilities would be needed!
Please Help Fight this Evil Disease
The medicine my neurologist has prescribed for me for my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. So I have started a Go Fund Me campaign.
